Culture & Connect offers a safe, welcoming space where students in grades 6 through 8 can explore their unique identities, celebrate their backgrounds, and build meaningful connections with peers who truly understand their experiences.
What Culture & Connect Offers
Our Culture & Connect is group is designed to support multicultural youth as they navigate the challenges and strengths of their identities. Here’s what participants can expect:
Connection
Students meet peers who share similar multicultural experiences. This helps reduce feelings of isolation and builds a sense of belonging.
Understanding
The group encourages deeper appreciation of each person’s cultural background. Teens explore what makes their identity unique and valuable.
Practical Tools
Participants learn skills for self-expression and communication. These tools help them confidently share their stories and navigate different social settings.
Professional Guidance
Jess Hudson, LPC, and Jacob Borge, LPC, lead the group, offering support for emotional and systemic challenges related to multicultural identity.
Why Middle School Is a Crucial Time

Group Details and Schedule
Culture & Connect meets in person at the Lombard office, providing a comfortable and private environment. The group runs for six weeks, giving participants time to build trust and develop skills.
When: Tuesdays at 6:00 PM
Dates: June 16 to July 21
Duration: 6 weeks
Location: Lombard office
What Happens in the Group Sessions?
Each session focuses on topics relevant to multicultural identity and middle school life.
Activities include group discussions, creative projects, and role-playing exercises. These help teens practice new skills in a supportive setting.
