Frequently Asked Questions
1 / Is the consultation actually free?
Yes! This is a unique service we offer to ensure your child gets matched with the right clinician and that you feel comfortable and supported in starting your journey with Lotus Bloom Psychology.
2 / Are consultations online or in-person?
Your 15-minute consultation is done virtually, either through a virtual meeting or via phone, whichever works best for you.
3 / What insurance do you accept?
We are in-network with BCBS PPO, BCBS Choice, and Aetna PPO. We are out of network with Cigna. We also offer self-pay options as well as sliding scale payments. Learn more on our Fees page.
4 / Do you offer ADHD and autism testing?
Yes, our team specializes in diagnostic evaluations for ADHD and Autism, as well as other developmental and learning differences. You can learn more about our testing services here.
5 / How should I prepare for my consultation?
Once scheduled, you’ll be asked to complete our online paperwork and upload your child's insurance information through our secure client portal. You'll be able to manage the portal from your own log-in, giving you the opportunity to add your contact information for appointment reminders and other messages.

It's important to add your child's information to the client portal prior to our consultation so we can review your coverage and payment options.
6 / Why start with a consultation?
No pressure, no cost … just clarity. This is your chance to ask questions before you commit and get personalized guidance to connect you with the right therapist for your child.
7 / Do you also support parents and caregivers in the therapy process?
Yes. We know that when parents feel supported, children do better. That’s why we offer parent guidance alongside individual and family therapy. In these sessions, we help caregivers understand child development and behavior through the lens of neuroscience, and we provide practical tools for managing challenges at home and strengthening family relationships. Our goal is to empower parents with strategies and confidence so they can support their child’s growth both inside and outside the therapy room.
8 / Do caregivers attend sessions?
We know parents and caregivers play a big role in a child’s progress. While most of the session is spent one-on-one with your child, caregivers are invited to join for the last 10 minutes. In addition, we schedule dedicated parent check-ins about every 6 weeks to talk through progress, answer questions, and plan next steps together.
9 / What ages of children do you see?
We work with children as young as preschool through the teenage years.
